La Doccia is a rambling stone farmhouse, perfectly restored, in the wooded hills to the east of Florence, Tuscany, 
a former Monks Farm part of the Vallombrosa Monastery located just 27 kilometres from Florence.

General Description

A perfectly restored country house in Tuscany, 
a former Monks Farm to the Vallombrosa Monastery.
It has been painstakingly restored to an extremely high standard whilst leaving the original structures
largely unchanged. Many features remain such as stone staircases, 
a mixture of chestnut and terracotta ceilings and much of the original terracotta and brick flooring. 
Where it has been necessary to improve certain areas the same handmade or original materials have been used. 
 A beautifully-maintained terraced garden with rose beds, herbaceous borders and lawns 
within 70 acres/30ha of private woodlands and meadows full of wild flowers. 
Set at the edge of the lawn, immediately below the main terrace, 
the private gated swimming pool, 12 x 6m/39 x 19.5 feet, 
is provided with a full complement of loungers as well as an outdoor dining area.
